Blue Ridge Georgia has a great new outdoor addition! You should try the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway Rail & Tube. The tubing is awesome! The cold water feels great on a hot day and the scenery is pretty too. Lots of geese and ducks, plus some fun currents and a float under the old iron bridge. We had a blast. You can enjoy a one way train ride, lunch and a cool tube run – what a great way to spend a day in the Blue Ridge Georgia mountains! The North Georgia Mountains will be receiving snow accumulations of up to an inch or two possibly late tonight and tomorrow. If you would like to increase your chances of seeing snow, reserve one of our Blue Ridge GA Cabin Rentals. The North Georgia Mountains receive approximately 3-5 snowfalls a year averaging to 1-2 inches. Most of the time, the snow does not stick around long, because the temperatures increase in the afternoon, which melts the snow.
Has it been a long time since you have seen snow? Have you ever seen snow? Did you grow up with snow, but your children have never seen or played in snow? Start planning your Winter Vacation to the North Georgia Mountains in hopes of seeing snow. There is no guarantee you will see snow, but your chances are much higher staying in our cabin rentals where the elevation is 1800 feet above sea level. Our cabins are only miles from the Tennessee and North Carolina Borders, and with a cold front coming down from Alaska/Canada, your chances of having snow flurries or snow accumulations are pretty good in the months of December, January or February. Come visit Blue Ridge GA and maybe you will be lucky enough to throw snowballs, make s snowman, watch the snow flurries come down or sit in front of the warm fireplace or in the hot tub when it’s snowing outside! Reserve one of our North Georgia Cabin Rentals for your Winter Snow Vacation!
It was lightly sprinkling, but we were determined to have a fire at our fire pit. It was so nice with the crickets singing, the smell of the wood burning, the crackling of the fire wood, and the relaxing sensation of watching the fire. Our boys were having a ball talking with us and their grandparents, while toasting & burning marshmallows and hot dogs. What a wonderful relaxing evening at the fire pit. Stay in our North Georgia Vacation Cabins and experience the relaxation of hanging out around the campfire.
During our vacation to our cabin rentals, we were so fascinated watching this spider build his web in front of our eyes. This Orb Spider built his spider web in between two chain pulls coming down from our outside porch Light Fan. We noticed the night before that his web looked kind of torn up, so he decided to build a sturdier web. We watched this spider as small bugs flew into his web. He immediately scurried down to the newly caught bug, and started spinning the bug in the web that was there. He then secreted more web (from his web hole…. I don’t know what the scientific name for it is) and was wrapping the bug even more. Before you knew it, the caught bug was wrapped up like a little “Bug Mummy.” The next morning we would visit the spider web, and it was missing a bunch of web pieces and we saw him resting on the fan. The next night, the process started all over again. During our visit, we called him our “Pet Spider.” There is always something fascinating happening at our North Georgia Cabin Rentals, and I am there with a camera to take photos or video clips of these exciting instances. I tried to upload a longer video clip of the orb spider circling his web while making it, but it wouldn’t upload.
