“Cabins Plus More.com” was created by a husband and wife team, Rich and Marian. We will be married for 30 years come May 2010. Were childhood sweethearts and knew each other since the 3rd grade and started dating in the summer of 11th grade. We have 3 boys aged 21, 17 and 14.
We strive to keep our cabin rentals well maintained with frequent visits to our cabins throughout the year. The cabin rentals are furnished with everything you need and want while on your vacation. We try to please our guests so they only have great comments to stay about our cabins and will refer our cabins to their friends, family, and co-workers. We are perfectionists, germophobics, and maticulous in everything we do in life. We bring these characteristics into our cabins by making sure they have all of the amenities of home and more, are extremely clean and sanitized, and are maintained and kept in a condition to make them seem brand new and never used by other guests. We strive for perfection and want our Guests to be happy and satisfied.
We purchased our first cabin rental in 2005 and named it Holly Pine Haven. We named it Holly Pine Haven because of the Holly Bushes and Pine Trees that surround the cabin property. We added the word “Haven” because Haven means: oasis, place of shelter and safety. The purchase of Holly Pine Haven gave us the opportunity to vacation in the mountains inside a beautiful cabin several times a year. We decided to use Holly Pine Haven as rental income, while enjoying the fruits of of labor. When we purchased Holly Pine Haven, the walls were all drywall, it had no rustic-lodge appeal, furniture was outdated, had no warmth. needed TLC and the basement was totally unfinished. My husband and myself wanted to stay in a cabin that met our vacation rental expectations. We had Wolf Creek Builders knock down walls, install tongue & groove where the drywall walls & ceiling were, install a floor to ceiling dry-stack gas log fireplace, repaired the wood floors, customized the cabin log beams, log staircase & structural enhancements, and redesign the main bathroom, and install new double vanity sinks in each bathroom. With additional TLC given after our renovation, Holly Pine Haven Cabin Rental was given new furniture, warm wall decor, log beds, log nightstands, new bedding, linens, kitchen appliances, dishware, pots, pans, gas grill, stained and protected porches with rocking chairs, tables and a swing chair, new hot tub, 2 picnic tables outside, campfire pit with plenty of seating, indoor gas log fireplace, Wi-Fi high speed internet, satellite TV and the basement was completed to contain a fully equipped game room with a pool table, foosball, air hockey, Satellite TV, chairs, table lamp, and spectator chairs.
We purchased our second cabin rental in 2007 and named it Deer Pine Lodge. We saw Deer on our property and with Pine Trees in the area, just felt like that name fit the cabin. With the cabin having a cathedral ceiling while creating an open feel, we felt it should be named a Lodge. We asked Wolf Creek Builders to complete work in this new cabin also. Knowing what our guests were looking for in a vacation cabin rental, we asked to install a new log staircase, installation of an actual tongue & groove wall in the loft, put in double vanity sinks (Jack & Jill sinks) in both bathrooms, a new dry-stack gas log fireplace outside on the wrap around porch, finished the gray concrete brick basement area with tongue & groove throughout, berber carpeting, and created a comfortable family game room with a standard size pool table, pool table lighting, air hockey, foosball, electronic darts, card table with chips, spectator chair, leather couch and 2 leather recliners. We also added our special touches by purchasing new furniture, log beds, log nightstands, bedding, wall decor, linens, kitchen appliances, dishware, pots, pans, porch rocking chairs & table, outdoor porch picnic table, gas grill, campfire pit, and a new hot tub. We could have left the cabin in the original condition we purchased it and still have rented it out. But, we truly care about our guests and the amenities they would be looking for in a cabin rental. We want our guests to come back time and time again and tell others about the great amenities and the rustic warmth our cabins contain.
Both of our cabins are child-friendly. The cabins contain: Pack & Play, Folding High Chair, Portable Potty Seat, Potty Seat to go on actual toilet, Booster Seat, 2 Safety Gates, Infant Monitors, Infant Bath Tub, Safety Electric Outlet Plugs, and Safety Latches on the Kitchen & Bathroom Cabinets under the Sink in Holly Pine Haven. Both cabins have custom-built latch-gated doors on the back porch to help keep your toddlers and children in one area.
We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into our cabin rentals. Every time was visit our cabins, which is at least 4 times a year, we work on our cabins to be sure they are in tip-top condition for our guests. There is nothing worse then paying a lot of money for a cabin rental, and seeing that it is worn, not cared for, appliances are broken, sheets ripped and stained, mismatched dishes & thin and towels with holes. Some cabin rental owners will spend the minimal amount for the necessities and not care about quality. They just want to buy what is needed in order to rent out their cabin. We care and do our best to please our Guests – and it shows!
