ATV 4-Wheeling - The Chattahoochee National Forest located in North Georgia, and the Oconee National Forest located in Central Georgia, are popular with individuals and family groups wanting a scenic and often challenging ride within the National Forest. Upper Tellico Off-Highway Vehicle Area – Upper Tellico’s 8,000 acres offer 40 miles of trails for four-wheeling. Most trails are open to all types of off-highway vehicles. Many are rough and challenging. Upper Tellico is on the Tennessee state line 13 miles north of Murphy, N.C.

About McCaysville - McCaysville, chartered in 1904, is located on the Georgia-Tennessee state line adjacent to Copperhill, Tennessee, its twin city. You can actually have one foot in Georgia and one foot in Tennessee when you cross the Blue Line marking the place where the states meet. Toccoa Avenue (Georgia) turns into Ocoee Street (Tennessee), while the Toccoa River becomes the Ocoee River under an old iron bridge built in 1911 that is still standing.  There are many antique shops, neat stores and Restaurants in Down Town McCaysville.  Quaint and nice town!!

Blairsville Chamber of Commerce  - Blairsville is 30 minutes southeast from the log cabin using Hwy. 515/76.  Blairsville has beautiful mountains too and it is worth the ride.  Visit Vogel State Park,  Brasstown Bald, Pappy's River Walk and so many other wonderful places.  You will love the countryside and scenic roads.

Brasstown Bald  is Georgia’s highest mountain at 4,784 feet above sea level. From the top of the mountain you have a 360 degree view of 4 states and on clear Fall days you can see Atlanta to the south. The temperature is usually 10 degrees cooler at the top of the mountain than in the parking lot below. The summer temperature at the mountain top has never been recorded higher than 84 degrees. You can learn about area wildlife, Georgia’s gold rush, the “Trail of Tears” and much more through exhibits and hands-on activities that appeal to all ages. There is a mountaintop theater with a video presentation that shows the beauty of the changing seasons on Brasstown Bald. There are also hiking trails and picnic tables.

Pappy's River Walk (off of Hwy. 129)  has many shops.  You can feed the fish out the back of the Trading Post.  A very unique place to visit!

Dahlonega is the sight of Georgia’s gold rush. Visit the shops on the town square and the gold museum in the center of the square. There is a great old time general store, candy shop, a year round Christmas store, quilt shop, and many other shops on the square. One block off the square is the Smith House Restaurant with delicious country cooking. About a one hour drive from Blue Ridge. Take Highway 515 west toward the town of Ellijay. Just before Ellijay you will take Highway 52 and follow the signs to Dahlonega. This route takes you through apple country…there will be several apple orchards on both sides of the roads were you can purchase apples during the season.   It takes about an hour to get there on excellent roads!
